Welcome to Fireland's Adventures of Sinbad

What is this blog about ?

This blog has been created to gather Fireland's fanfictions related to the late TV serie The Adventures of Sinbad (1996-1998).

Very few AoS fan websites and forums are still currently active, yet my inspiration for fanfictions is still lively and has allowed me to write down several new stories in the past year. However, over the past weeks, I've litterally started drafting enough ideas to write a whole fictional season 3 to the Adventures of Sinbad. Of course, this project is huge and will last over a long period of time. Thus, I thought it might be a good idea to gather all the fanfictions I've written so far (and those I will write in the future) in this blog, hoping it will be more convenient for my eventual readers to follow the evolution of ''Fireland's AoS Season 3''.

I will also add some random fanfictions I've written in the past, even though they are not related to the ''Season 3'' project.

What is the rating for the fanfictions ?

My fanfictions are definitely young adult/adult oriented, therefore their rating covers a wide range, from T to MA.

Originally, some of my fanfictions were published on Ethereal Prey's Steam Forum (Maeve and Sinbad : When Fire and Water Collide). The purpose of EP's forum was to write steamy fics involving the Maeve/Sinbad couple and some of the stories the fans would write could get really graphic. I myself allowed a bit more graphic details when I wrote fanfictions on this forum. However, the fanfictions I will write for the ''Season 3'' project will maintain a T to M rating, mostly because of the topics I might explore throughout the ''episodes'' (such as sexuality, abortion or homosexuality) - which some people could find offensive or controversial - although they will be addressed in a tasteful manner, being suggested rather than graphic.

Just keep in mind most of the current AoS fandom consists of people who used to watch the serie when they were teenagers ; that was 15 years ago. They are well into adulthood now, just like I am ; therefore, I believe I can address more mature subjects, because they are the audience my fanfictions are written for. Moreover, the serie itself has changed over time. Season 1 was almost ''Disney-ish'' (and I'm definitely not complaining about it), but Season 2 was darker, it already felt more mature. I thought it was coherent to write a fictional Season 3 that would have matured even more. The characters are a few years older than they were in Season 1, after all. And, needless to say, they have been through many tough challenges, had to deal with pain and grief, etc. Thus, it would feel unrealistic to stick to fairytale stories for Season 3 ; I wanted to see the characters evolve.

What is the purpose of writing a third season for AoS ?

There isn't one, really. Or if there is, it's only for me to free myself from the stories that have recently, and unexpectedly, popped in my mind, when I was watching a movie or listening to music. I always loved to write, even though I never thought of myself as being a talented author - especially not in english, since it is not my mother tongue. On the other hand, if it wasn't about the Adventures of Sinbad, I would write about other subjects, plain and simple. So, I thought : why not make something out of this ? Why not write down the stories I imagined - and sometimes dreamt about - and try to create a fictional third season with it?
It's really not an original idea, many people have done this before. This is why my blog is called ''Fireland's'', and not anyone else's, fictional Season 3. I wanted to tell the story I felt could have happened. The story I've wanted so bad to see happening. Of course, I won't be able to fully fill in the gaps the original serie has left behind. But I hope that my humble contribution to the fandom will please some of us who still think of Maeve and Sinbad as being one of the greatest couples the television has ever offered us.

Chapter I : The Hunter

The Nomad had anchored a few hours ago at the port of Sarania, where the crew had planned on taking a few days off. Their latest journey had consisted of 5 weeks on sea, so everybody felt relieved when they could finally stand on ground and hopefully, enjoy themselves with good food, wine and of course, women. Only Bryn protested when she heard of their vacations’ destination. She had had nightmares several times and had a bad feeling about this place. As the crew reached the land, pushing the longboat further away on the beach, Dermott grew agitated, and Bryn felt something she couldn’t identify. Black magic ? It was different from what she usually felt when facing dark energies.

Chapter II : Call of Duty

The crew started walking toward the forest, where they planned on installing their tents for the night. Rongar and Firouz took care of the firepit. Maeve sat on a rock as she watched her horse grazing in the clearing. Sinbad sat beside her. He reached gently for one of her golden earrings, which was encrusted with emeralds.

‘’Life seems to have been kind to you this past year,’’ Sinbad commented.
‘’I’ve been lucky, I guess,’’ she answered, evasive. ‘’Do you still own the Nomad ?’’ she asks, willing to change the topic.
‘’Yes,’’ he smirked. ‘’I must say, she’s had some hard times, but she’s a toughey’’.
‘’I do miss her,’’ Maeve admitted.

Sinbad grinned, then grabbed Maeve’s arm and pulled gently on it as they stood up. ‘’Come’’, he told her with a mischievous smile.
‘’Where are we going ?’’

Chapter III : Ballroom and Dead Meat

The crew was standing in front of a dark castle that looked abandoned, Bryn felt chills running down her spine. The weird feeling was now very intense, it overwhelmed her so much that she had trouble breathing.

‘’I don’t have magical abilities, but I feel that, too’’ Doubar said, looking at her.

‘’Let’s not panik here. Some travelers are known to abduct people for ransom and some cultures even practice cannibalism, it’s part of their warfare …’’ Firouz stopped when the crew all turned to glare at him. ‘’What I meant was that they’re probably not demons’’.

‘’I beg to differ’’, Bryn stated, ‘’I clearly feel it now. More evil than black magic, and truly more powerful. Maeve … she was telling the truth about them. They’re dead … and they’re not human’’.

‘’You’re creeping me out’’, Doubar groaned.

‘’What are they ?’’ asked Sinbad. ‘’Some kind of ghosts ?’’

Bryn looked at him, frightened. ‘’I’d say they’re more of the blood-sucking kind‘’.
